SALVATORE ESPOSITO LIFTS THE SERIE BKT MVP TROPHY FOR SEPTEMBER

The Serie BKT MVP trophy is light blue in colour again. The Spezia midfielder Salvatore Esposito was the best player for the month of September, following Antonio Vergara of Reggiana, the winner for August.

The midfielder received the award devised by BKT, Title Sponsor of the championship and officially recognized by Lega B, on the occasion of the Spezia-Bari match, on matchday 10 of the first half of the season, during the pre-match protocols.

The Opta data on the period considered show that no player was involved in more goals than Salvatore Esposito in Serie BKT (4 in the same number of appearances, plus 3 assists) and he was also the player who created the most opportunities, both in total (15) and from set-pieces (12).

Among the midfielders who attempted at least 200 passes in the month of September in Serie BKT, Esposito was in the top 5 in the championship in terms of his precision percentage (90%).

A player of quality and energy, he possesses an excellent basic technique, enabling him not only to switch the action, but meaning he is also skilled in retrieving balls. Though only 24, Esposito already boasts various experiences with clubs such as ChievoVerona, Ravenna, Spal and Spezia, but, above all, a call-up to the national team in May 2022 for a training camp devoted to the most promising young players on the Italian scene, which resulted in his debut with the light blue jersey a month later.
