After Cosenza, Lecce, and Como, another piece of the Fattore Campo puzzle has been placed. Palermo, the winning city of the 2022/23 edition, has also benefited from a renewal of play areas.
Behind every inauguration of Fattore Campo, there are countless stories and dreams of those who tread those spaces every day.
This is why we decided, together with Sky, to broadcast a short documentary that tells the genesis of the project and all the steps up to its inauguration, for each stage of Fattore Campo. And now it is Palermo's turn. The mini-doc will air on Sky Sport channels starting today, May 12!
Fattore Campo is the Social Responsibility initiative that Balkrishna Industries Ltd – leading company in the production of off-highway tires, better known as BKT – promotes together with Lega B in the cities of the Serie BKT championship, where it renews and rebuilds play areas.
Every year, by playing BKT Premia, the official contest of Serie BKT, created by its Title Sponsor, two fan bases can win a redevelopment project for their city. The second edition of Fattore Campo saw Como and Palermo triumph.
In the Sicilian capital, a brand new five-a-side football field was built in the Sperone district of Palermo, within the Valentino Renda sports facility, often at the center of initiatives aimed at young people from local schools and the most challenging neighborhoods.
Together with local authorities, two symbolic players of today's Palermo were present at the inauguration: the young Palermo goalkeeper Manfredi Nespola and the forward Francesco Di Mariano, who grew up right in Sperone. BKT has proudly been the Title Sponsor of Serie BKT, the championship of Italians, since 2018.
Through Fattore Campo, the company aims to leave a tangible mark in the communities and territories where it is present, financing urban regeneration interventions that make sport a right for everyone.
