BKT LEAVES ITS MARK AND INAUGURATES THE FIRST PROJECT OF “FATTORE CAMPO” 1

It was a truly special day for BKT and the city of Lecce. The first sports area of the “Fattore Campo” project was inaugurated — a social initiative by BKT, Title Sponsor of Serie BKT, aimed at redeveloping new play areas in the cities of the Italian Championship. In the 2021–22 season, the winner was Lecce, which saw the complete renovation of the five-a-side pitch in Piazzale Cuneo, in the 167 district.

The protagonists of this victory were the Giallorossi fans who, by playing BKTpremia, accumulated key points that placed the Lecce Municipality’s project at the top of the Fattore Campo ranking.

BKT, along with all the initiative’s partners, thus sees the birth of the first Fattore Campo project, putting into play the values that guide the company’s daily work: passion, local engagement, and teamwork.

Following the brand’s motto “#LeaveYourMark,” BKT’s goal with Fattore Campo is to create something tangible and meaningful.

Thanks to this initiative, BKT has shown a strong presence in the community with a focus on social impact, aiming to make sports once again a right for all.

Numerous side activities were organized for the event. After placing a commemorative plaque on the fence of the newly renovated BKT-branded pitch, special guest Ernesto Chevanton, historic striker of U.S. Lecce, kicked off the creation of a symbolic mural on a nearby building, depicting the Giallorossi legend.

Alongside him, a child symbolically representing all the kids who will play on the new pitch and who, through football and sport, will give their lives a positive and meaningful direction.

BKT also wanted to give the day a joyful, neighborhood celebration feel.

Chevanton was invited to act as a special referee in a match between local kids from the 167 district and a selection of U.S. Lecce Under-12 and Under-13 players.

The event was filled with emotional moments, especially when Chevanton recalled his childhood:

“I’ve seen many stadiums and football fields, but this is definitely the most beautiful. I wish I had one like this as a kid,” he said, visibly moved.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony was attended by BKT, the Municipality of Lecce, Lega B, U.S. Lecce, and Havas Sports & Entertainment (HSE), the sports marketing team of Havas Media Group in Italy and creator of the project.

Following the Lecce inauguration, a new redevelopment will soon begin near the Cosenza Stadium, the second-ranked city in the 2021–22 Fattore Campo standings.

The project continues into the 2022–23 season, once again giving Serie BKT fans the chance to play a key role in creating useful and accessible recreational sports spaces for the whole community.
