BKT RESTRUCTURES TWO BASKETBALL COURTS IN ATHENS 1

BKT and One Team are back on the field together for a solidarity project in Greece

For BKT attention devoted to the territory and to local communities has always been one of the priority values on which its sponsorships and activations are based. Corporate responsibility is essential. Numerous social projects offer evidence of the Brand’s commitment: from Fattore Campo, in the Serie BKT, to the inclusive initiatives in Ligue 2 BKT, including Euroleague Basketball where, last year, it participated actively in the restructuring of a school gym in Istanbul. So the Brand continues with CSR projects by inaugurating two basketball courts in the Patissia neighbourhood, in the centre of Athens, thanks to the One Team-BKT Legacy Project. The collaboration between the Brands and the Euroleague social responsibility program aim to fit into the city’s social fabric to attempt to improve youngsters’ lives by providing new state-of-the-art structures. For BKT sport is a vehicle of aggregation, social relations, inclusiveness. Everyone should have the right to practise it using safe, modern installations free of charge. In this case, the Patassia neighbourhood needed a massive restructuring of the entire area. The ribbon-cutting for the new courts was characterized by a very special inauguration. In fact a 3vs3 tournament was organized, in which eight teams participated composed of two boys and two girls from the nearby neighbourhoods, with special, inclusive rules: in fact no player could score consecutive baskets and all three players had to touch the ball before being able to shoot. The day of celebration saw the participation of Lucia Salmaso, Managing Director of BKT Europe, Kimon Stefos, Corporate Partnerships and Licensing Sales Director of Euroleague Basketball, Mayor of Athens Kostas Bakoyannis and Euroleague Basketball Ambassador Sofoklis Schortsanitis.
