BKT “DREAMS BIG” AT CHRISTMAS TOGETHER WITH PISA

Reading time (minutes):2

A lot of work, a little bit of patience, but above all fun and passion. That was the spirit of “Sogna in grande” [Dream Big], the Christmas activity of BKT, Title Sponsor of Serie BKT, together with Lega B and Pisa Sporting Club.

For this year, the leader company in the production of Off-Highway tires decided to team up with some little helpers to realize its own Christmas project and tell the story of football through the imagination and the eyes of children.

Since the first year of its partnership with Lega B, the commitment of BKT to social issues, communities and all contexts devoted to inclusion has been evident in every activity conducted in collaboration with Lega B and local clubs. At Christmas time, where the common aim of every project is to make the little ones happy, BKT has been busy involving them.

Specifically, this Christmas activity saw the involvement of local associations committed to stemming situations of deprivation and social problems who are active in promoting children’s positive growth, accompanying them towards healthy social interaction, wellbeing and smooth educational pathways.

So it was that the boys and girls of the Fondazione Stella Maris, a structure devoted to treatment, research and training in the field of child neuropsychiatry, the Amici della Zizzi non-profit organization, an association with the main purpose of prevention and providing services in support of young people at risk, and the “Il Big Bang” family dimension community were all able to participate in this unique experience and walk in the shoes of professionals who contribute to football entertainment.

Journalists and correspondents, photographers and video-makers, changing-room staff, fitness coaches, announcers and commentators … but in the mini version. With the support of expert tutors and exceptional guests, such as former footballer Davide Moscardelli and DAZN journalist Riccardo Mancini, the children experienced two unforgettable days in stadiums, at training grounds and learning the secrets of the trade. Guided by a team of professionals and by Havas Play, the agency that has accompanied BKT in the world of sport ever since its arrival in Italy, the youngsters discovered football from a new perspective, telling us about it through their eyes and their voices.

Then the game between Pisa Sporting Club and Bari, matchday 17 of the championship, served as a stage for the second part of the “Sogna in grande” project. At the start of the match, a girl dressed as a referee walked onto the pitch together with the twenty-two players and, completing the atmosphere, all the player escorts were wearing red shirts bearing the words “Sogna in grande”, the title of the project, to symbolize the invitation to follow their dreams and the possibility of transforming them, with hope and determination, into reality.

Starting from Tuesday 10 December, the results of this extraordinary journey can be seen on the social channels of Pisa Sporting Club and Lega B, with the series of episodes that continued up to Christmas Day and ended with a special video showing all the most exciting and significant moments for those who, in life, never cease to “Dream big”.

Lucia Salmaso, Managing Director of BKT Europe, says: “Today we also wish to underline our commitment in making sport an opportunity to unite people and support the entire community, starting with the smallest ones. Supporting social initiatives such as ‘Sogna in grande’ is an integral part of our vision, where every step represents a small yet significant stage on the path towards inclusivity and solidarity, for a better future for all”.

Giuseppe Corrado, President of Pisa Sporting Club, says: “We are happy and honoured to have hosted this initiative, which fully reflects the values of sport and has children as its protagonists, as they are our future and our greatest hope for a better world. It is no coincidence that the project is called “Dream big” and, thanks to this idea by BKT developed by Lega B, children walked onto our stage who in a few years will be leading football players. Inclusivity and solidarity have long represented the thread running through so many projects carried forward by Pisa Sporting Club, which dreamed big this time together with the crowd at the Cetilar Arena and Serie BKT”.
