BKT leaves its mark in a state school in Istanbul 1

Together with Euroleague Basketball, BKT has been the protagonist of an inclusive project for the restructuring of the gym and the basketball pitch at the TEB Atasehir Anatolian High School

For BKT the true goal of a sports sponsorship is to convey what our values are: commitment, positivity, passion. #LasciailSegno means seeing people smile, giving them more and more opportunities to have fun. Involving a prestigious championship such as Euroleague Basketball in launching an inclusive project in Turkey gives grounds for great satisfaction. Thanks to a major joint project between BKT and One Team, the corporate responsibility programme of Euroleague Basketball, the students of a state school in the Asian part of Istanbul, the TEB Atasehir Anatolian High School, will be able to practise their sport in two completely restructured and renovated spaces. In Turkey basketball is a sport that is attracting increasing numbers of young enthusiastic players, thanks also to the success achieved in recent years by Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul and Anadolu Efes Istanbul in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague. To underline the importance of this event, the champions of the yellow-and-black team, Pierriá Henry and Ismet Akpinar, participated in the inauguration of the restructured areas. Playing safely, encouraging more youngsters to practise sporting activities, cultivating their talent. The restructuring of the school has involved two main areas: the covered gymnasium and the open-air basketball pitch, used not only by the students, but also by a large number of the local inhabitants during the hours outside of school time. For BKT, corporate responsibility is essential. The projects of the other sports sponsorships, such as that of Fattore Campo for the Serie BKT, are the proof of how important initiatives devoted to social issues are for the brand. To realize them, team work is fundamental in order to achieve every goal. For this reason, in order to make this project more inclusive, it was not only the students and their families who contributed to the days of restructuring work, but also the entire community, collaborating on a voluntary basis. “I am delighted to know that we can help develop the love for sport – says Lucia Salmaso, Managing Director at BKT Europe. BKT wants to go beyond the role of sponsor, the real goal is to leave a mark, helping and giving added value to the communities where we operate. We want to undertake concrete initiatives as we have done for the public school in Istanbul and as we are doing in Italy with the Fattore Campo project, to promote projects that help redevelop or provide new sports spaces to communities in order to better enjoy sports, in a spirit of sharing and inclusion. Sport is passion, but also a tool to convey positive and constructive values, such as team spirit and respect for your opponent. We truly believe in it!”[vc_row][vc_column][vc_gallery interval="3" images="7678,7746,7742,7738,7734,7730,7726,7722,7718,7714,7710,7706,7702,7698,7694,7690,7686,7682" img_size="1920x1280"][/vc_column][/vc_row]
