JOEL POHJANPALO IS THE WINNER OF THE SERIE BKT MVP TROPHY FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER

This is no surprise, and was a certainty for fans: Joel Pohjanpalo wins the Serie BKT MVP Trophy for the month of December. He is very used to such recognition, considering the five awards he has already received in past seasons wearing the jerseys of Palermo and Venezia.

The MVP trophy of the month, devised by BKT – leader company in the production of Off-Highway tires and Title Sponsor of the championship – and officially recognized by Lega B, has been awarded to the Palermo attacker thanks to his excellent performances in the month of December.

The prize has been awarded to the Rosanero player based on the votes of the journalists of DAZN, official broadcaster of the championship, of Stats Perform and the journalist Tullio Calzone, who is responsible for “Serie B” column for Il Corriere della Sera. The prize will be handed over in the pre-match ceremony before the game between Palermo and Spezia on championship matchday 20.

His excellent performances are certified by Opta data: in the four matches played in December, Pohjanpalo scored four goals, more than any other player in the championship. The danger he represents in front of goal is also confirmed by his high number of touches in the opponent’s area (28) and total shots (27), as well as by his first position in the scorers’ table.

If Palermo is nearing the top of the table, most of the merit is due to the Finnish attacker, a true leader and inspirer of the Rosanero team thanks to his goals and top-level performances.
